Ecological sustainability

We have had environmental certification since 1999 and work continuously on reducing any negative environmental impact of our operations. As regards our ecological footprint, the great width of our operations entails both challenges and considerable opportunities. Transport, energy consumption and the indirect effects of our use of cement account for our greatest negative impact on the environment. Initiatives in this area range from major investments in sustainable train solutions and optimising formulas for concrete to energy streamlining and switching to sustainable forms of energy.
