Benders Sverige AB acquires Eco Byggolit AB in Vara

2014-06-04

Benders Sverige AB has today acquired machinery and premises from the estate in bankruptcy of Eco Byggolit AB in Vara. The purchase was made through Benders Isolering AB, a newly started company.

“Our intention is to continue manufacturing cellular plastic in Vara. We expect to have some 10 people working in the company,” states Benders Sverige AB’s Magnus Odhagen, the MD of the newly formed company.

Benders currently uses cellular plastic in, amongst other things, the manufacture of base elements. Most of Vara’s cellular plastic production will be used for the company’s own needs.

“Cellular plastic production is a natural step for us and a response to our customers’ desire for a supplier with wide and complete ranges,” Mats Jakobsson, vice MD and marketing manager of Benders Sverige AB.

The cellular plastic and concrete combination is an increasingly appealing option in the construction sector and Benders’ wide-ranging logistics systems bring further advantages as regards economics and the environment.

From its very beginning, Benders Sverige AB has developed strongly in its core areas of landscaping and roofing products. With around 500 employees, the turnover of the Benders group is presently SEK 1.3 billion. Its head office is in Edsvära (near Kvänum), where the company was also founded in 1960. The group has Swedish production units in Braås, Bålsta, Edsvära, Fjärås, Floda, Frillesås, Götene, Hjo, Näsinge, Rabbalshede, Skärholmen, Uddevalla, Åstorp, Ävja and Kvänum. To these can also be added Sandefjord in Norway, Kritzkow in Germany and Karditza in Greece. Benders is a privately owned family company. The owners are Karl Erik Bender, Ove Bender and Helen Bender.
