Benders Byggsystem AB has recently signed an agreement to acquire a majority shareholding in Concrete Solutions Nordic AB (CSN) in Halmstad, a company specialising in prefabricated buildings for the energy sector.
CSN founders Andrée Dam and Robert Nihlén are to remain as part owners and, to continue the company’s development, work with Benders Byggsystem AB. Working throughout Sweden, CSN supplies, amongst other things, specially adapted transformer stations for customers such as Siemens, ABB, Vattenfall and Linjemontage.
Major synergies in a rapidly growing market
“Via this investment, we are serving entirely new market segments and considerably widening Benders’ offerings. Because Sweden’s electricity grid is undersized and in great need of refurbishment, we asses that future opportunities for growth are good,” comments Anders Erdmark, MD of Benders Byggsystem AB.
Up until now, CSN has taken care of planning and design while buying in (from external operators) production and erection. Both these latter will now be looked after by Benders Byggsystem AB’s production facilities.
Bigger projects possible – CSN becomes Benders Byggkraft AB
“We were looking for a partner with financial muscle. Backed by Benders’ resources, we will be able to offer more complete solutions and take on far bigger projects than before. The personal chemistry was immediate and the journey onwards will be exciting. The name Benders will, of course, also be of inestimable value,” states Robert Nihlén, who is to be the MD of the new subsidiary company. In the autumn, this will take the name Benders Byggkraft AB.
“Together, we can create a very strong business concept leveraging not only CSN’s expert know-how and its contacts in a special market, but also all the resources already within Benders,” concludes Anders.
