Benders safeguards your privacy and puts every effort into maintaining a high level of protection in all processing of personal data. As of May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies within the EU/EEA.

Benders Sverige AB, or the company otherwise stated to be the data controller, is responsible, in accordance with the applicable data protection legislation, for processing your personal data in accordance with what is set out below.

We put every effort into ensuring a high level of data protection that safeguards your privacy when you use our website. This privacy policy explains: how your personal data are processed and protected; your rights; and, how you can enforce your rights. Collection and processing of personal data

Personal data is any information that, directly or indirectly, can be connected to you as an individual. Examples of such information are: name; physical images; civic registration number; contact details; competition entries; selections you have made; behaviour; and, IP address. Personal data processing refers to all actions that we, or a third party, take in respect of personal data (e.g. collection, recording and storage).

Personal data may only be processed for special and expressly stated purposes. Consequently, they may not be processed for any purpose that goes beyond these.

Who is responsible for the personal data we collect?

Benders Sverige AB (co. reg. no. 556233-3970), Box 20, SE-535 21 Kvänum, Sweden is the data controller and is responsible for the processing of the personal data you submit to us (e.g. via use of this website, logging in as a customer or other contact such as email or chat functions). Benders Sverige AB coordinates data protection throughout the Benders group of companies and regulates other, group-wide, data protection initiatives via, amongst other things, this policy.

Where are your personal data stored?

As far as possible, we seek to have your personal data processed within the European Economic Area (EEA) and our own IT environment. However, data may be transmitted and processed in a country outside the EEA (a so-called “third country”). Such transmission is only to a recipient country with an adequate protection level and in accordance with applicable legislation. If transmission is to a partner for a service in the USA, it may only be to a company covered by the so-called “Privacy Shield”. This latter is a personal data protection agreement between the EU and the USA.

What sort of personal data do we collect?

Primarily, we at Benders only collect personal data that, in some way, is used to: respond to and administer your enquiries; handle any contractual relations; and, provide information and services in connection with such enquiries and contracts. These data are those that you yourself have submitted to us so that, for example: a contract with you can be administered; or, we can satisfy our legal obligations towards, for instance, public authorities.

Examples of personal data about you include contact information (e.g. email address, telephone no. and, possibly, physical delivery addresses). Said data can also be so-called “online identification” used to, for example: follow use of our website; and, possibly, adapt the user’s website experience when placing orders, submitting queries (and similar) or creating new contacts via our “customer portal”.

How do we use your personal data?

Benders always processes your personal data in accordance with applicable legislation. We process your personal data: when it is necessary for performance of a contract with you; and, when we have another legitimate and lawful interest for processing your personal data (e.g. an interest in being able to market ourselves to website visitors or an interest in developing our website or our products and/or services).

If we would like to process your personal data for any purpose that, under applicable legislation, requires your consent, we will obtain your consent before starting any such processing.

Data that we collect in accordance with the preceding two paragraphs are deleted when the purposes of processing have been fulfilled and/or when, legally, it is no longer incumbent on us to save them.

Primarily, we use your personal data in pursuance of our contractual relations and activities (i.e. in respect of sales/purchases, deliveries and aftersales/other services).

With the aim of improving our products and services, your personal data may be used for: marketing; and, monitoring related to sales and product development.

When, on our website or customer portal, etc., you use functions that enable you to enter personal information or other material, we ask you to note that such information may contain personal data. Should your information contain data about any other person, you may only enter such information if you have received this person’s consent to provide the data in question.

Finally, we also process personal data: for statistical purposes related to seeing how people use our website and analysing search behaviours; and, to show you customised content. Such data are processed in an anonymised and aggregated form that prevents you being identified as an individual. We use these data to: test our IT systems; and, carry out research and data analyses targeted at improving our products and services.

Below, there are a few concrete examples of when/how we may use your personal data.

  • Sending SMS notifications of delivery status.
  • Corresponding about questions and other matters.
  • Taking registrations for, and mailing out, newsletters and other offers. Note that you can also withdraw from further mailouts (withdrawal instructions accompany the mailouts).
  • Announcing winners of the competitions we hold.
  • Sending out any surveys to improve our services and offerings.
  • Analysing purchase patterns so that we can provide relevant offers and information.
  • Recruiting people and entering submissions to our candidate database or registers for specific positions.

What are your rights?

You are, at any time, entitled to request information on the personal data we hold about you. If your data are incorrect, incomplete or irrelevant, you can request to have them corrected or deleted. Please note that we cannot delete your data if there is a legal requirement for storage (e.g. accountancy rules) or if there is any other legitimate reason why the data must be saved. By withdrawing from our newsletters, you can, at any time, withdraw your consent to letting us use the data for marketing. You can also contact us via email (please see the contact details below).

With whom can we share your personal data?

So that we are able to offer you our products/services and undertake commitments towards you as an interested party of one kind or another (e.g. customer, supplier or user of our website), we share your personal data with companies that act for us as so-called data processors. Said data processors process information on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions. They help us with, for example, IT services, transport, etc. This happens only for purposes for which we have collected the information and only with companies that can provide sufficient guarantees regarding the security and confidentiality of personal data.

We never forward, sell or exchange your personal data to or with third parties for the purposes of marketing.

How do we protect your personal data?

Benders is fastidious about high security for your personal data and, to this end, has implemented appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, alteration, dissemination or destruction.

Cookies

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files that, when you surf and use websites or other online services, are stored on your device in order, for example, to facilitate certain functions (e.g. website navigation).

One of the primary functions of a cookie is to save time for the user. A cookie tells the web server that you have returned to a certain page. Thus, we use cookies to improve your user experience so that any choices are adapted to your wishes.
