Benders is sponsoring Elitloppet (“Elite Race”) for the first time this year. Elitloppet is one of the biggest and most prestigious trotting competitions anywhere. The world’s best horses are being invited to Solvalla to compete over the sprint distance of 1,609 metres on Sunday the 29th of May.
Benders, the title sponsors at Solvalla, is arranging a jet from the USA so that the best American horses can take part under optimum conditions. Horses can be quickly flown over, have a short break before the race and then eventually return to the USA.
Benders’ horses Gidde Palema and Torvald Palema won the race in 2004 and 2009 respectively. They are Sweden’s top-winning trotting stallions of all times. In recognition of this, they will be leading out the parades for the preliminary and final races.
